Terms
Plain language. Last updated October 2026. See also the Privacy page.
Who can use 3 commits
- You must be 13 or older. By signing in you confirm that you are. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, you also confirm that a parent or guardian is okay with you using 3 commits.
- You are responsible for your account and for what happens under it. Sign in with an account that is yours.
What you share
- What you log stays private unless you choose Close friends or Public for a pillar. Shares and comments are public.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people you chose, so the app can work.
- Only share what you have the right to share, and don't post other people's private details.
How we expect people to behave
- No harassment, hate, spam, impersonation, sexual content, or anything illegal. Don't try to break, overload, or get around the app's limits.
- We can remove content, and suspend or close accounts, that break these rules. You can report a post or comment, and mute or block anyone, from the ••• menu.
Not medical advice
- 3 commits helps you keep promises to yourself. It isn't medical, mental health, or professional advice. Talk to a qualified professional about your health, and stop anything that doesn't feel right.
Your data and leaving
- You can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes what you've logged and uploaded. The Privacy page explains what we store and who handles it.
The service as it is
- We work to keep 3 commits running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. It is provided as it is, and we aren't liable for losses that come from using it, to the extent the law allows.
Changes
- 3 commits is still growing, so these terms may change. When they do, we'll update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app before the change applies to you. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new terms.
- Questions about these terms: use Feedback in the app.
